Paula Jean Pulley, 60, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Heartland Senior Living in Neoga, IL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Effingham, IL. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation. Paula was born on July 17, 1960, in Effingham, IL. She was the daughter of John and Eileen (Probst) Steppe. She married Martin “Marty” Pulley on July 2, 1983. Paula was a teacher at heart as well as professionally. She accomplished many great things in her life as a mother, wife, grandma, daughter, sister, friend, and teacher. She was passionate about educating the youth and anyone she crossed paths with. She enjoyed arts and crafts, planting flowers, her pet dogs, ice cream, and being the foundation of her family. Paula was known for her very kind personality that touched everyone she encountered. She lived life in a great way and was passionate and fully invested in what was important to her personally and her family.

Paula is survived by her husband, Marty of Effingham; son, Eric Pulley of Reno, NV; daughter, Amy (Kasey) Minor of Effingham; grandchildren, Jay Minor and Maggie Minor; siblings, Jan (Chuck) Schuette, Mark (Jill) Steppe, Tom (Debbie) Steppe, and Nancy (Nick) Bushur; and several nieces and nephews.
