Joyce Fisher, 81, of Brownstown, died at 10:11 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Lutheran Care Center, Altamont.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown with Mike Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pilcher Cemetery, rural Brownstown. Visitation will be for 2 hours prior to the service time beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the donor’s choice.

Joyce E. Fisher was born on Tuesday, December 19, 1939 in St. Elmo to William ‘Bub’ and Zelma (Warner) Fairchild. She married Harold L. Fisher on February 17, 1963 at the First Christian Church, St. Elmo. She was affiliated with the Christian Church. In addition to raising her family she worked at the First National Bank of Brownstown for 27 years. She had been active with the Fayette County Home Extension, enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and following the St. Louis Cardinals and the Illini.

She is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Harold of Brownstown; sons, Clayton Fisher of Belleville and Eric (Elisabeth) Fisher of Lisle; daughters, Lisa (Mike) Smith of Blue Mound and Lori (Ted) Mueller of Altamont; sister, Dorothy Davis of Olathe, KS; sisters-in-law, Shirley Fairchild of Papillion, NE, Chris Baughman of Plantersville, MS, Ruth VanZee of Jackson, MO and Virginia Wilbur of Brownstown; brothers-in-law, Paul (Dee) Fisher of Brownstown and Jerry Fisher of Greenville; 19 grandchildren, Taylor, Alex, Emily, Alison, Katie, Sarah, Kiah, Cole, Josh, Erin, Devonte, Donavan, Ian, Sean, Tanner, Jaylee, Cameron, Emmett and Sophie; 8 great grandchildren; Liam, Alaina, Emilia, Eliana, Rose, Clara, Kipp and Wyatt; and her beloved dog, Sandy.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Dale (Chris) Fairchild and Ralph (Shirley) Fairchild and Robert in infancy and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Georgia Fisher.
