Richard Dean “Rich” Wortman, 77, of Shelbyville, IL, left us on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 to go hang out with Junior and other friends and relatives.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating and military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Peace Meal Program, Shelbyville, IL or Crossroads Cancer Center, Effingham, IL.

Rich was born November 20, 1943 to Hugh and Clara Ruch Wortman. He was the last of six children born. Norman, Mary Hayworth, Suzy Bleyer, Nancy Mowry, and Loren all welcomed Rich as they passed before him.

Rich served in the United States Army from 1961-1968. He was proud Army while both brothers were proud Air Force.

Rich was married to Glennie Crum from 1964-1985. They had four children: Tracy (Jess) Mount, Indianapolis; Richard Jr. (deceased); Kelly (Craig) Martin, Shelbyville; and Sandy Macari, Shelbyville. He has six amazing grandchildren: Justin and Devin Mount; Megan and Sarah Martin; and Adam and Alex Macari.

Rich also leaves behind his best buddy, Ollie, his cat. Ollie likes to go on rides in Rich’s truck and do lake checks.

The family would like to say thank you to Debbie Martz from Peace Meals, the HSHS Hospital in Shelbyville, and the Manor for taking such good care of Rich.
