Kenneth Delane Marshall, 81, of Newton died peacefully Monday morning, April 19, 2021 at his farm home with his wife Linda by his side.

Kenneth was the owner of Marshall Construction Company in Newton for more than 50 years until he retired to run a cabinet building company at his home. He eventually turned the business over to his son, Todd. Kenneth worked in construction prior to that with Charles Fritschle Construction of Newton. He was also a longtime farmer.

Born in Jasper County to the late Bernard and Ruby Marshall on Nov. 28, 1939, he was one of eight siblings. He was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He met Linda Lou Murray of Newton, and they married on June 24, 1961. They had four children.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Cindy of Sebring, FL, Quentin (Karla) of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Todd (Lori) of Wheeler, and Brent (Elaine) of Aurora, Ind.; six grandchildren, Nicole, Taylor, Masen, Jordan, Madalynn and Alyssa; three great-grandchildren, Aydra, Haven and Lily; two sisters, Susie Andrews, of Newton, and Rosie McGee of Bogota.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Don, Dean, Roy, Floyd; and his sister, Dema Milsap; and one step-grandson Zeke.

Kenneth will be cremated. Crain Funeral Home in Newton is assisting the family with arrangements. For those who would like to pay their respects to the family, they will receive visitors Saturday, April 24, at Kenneth and Linda Marshall’s farm at 7524 N. 725th St., Newton.
