Ruth M. Hatten (86) of Neoga

Ruth M. Hatten, 86, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 2:43 PM Wednesday, Aprill 14, 2021 in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, Illinois.

She was born March 21, 1935 in Bloomington, Indiana the daughter of Wilson W. and Lucille (Helm) Farmer. Ruth was a retired mail clerk at World Color Press in Effingham, Illinois. She married Lloyd Massengill. Mr Massengill passed away. She then married Paul R. Hatten March 31, 1972 in Bloomington, Indiana, Mr. Hatten passed away September 1, 2007.

Mrs. Hatten was a member of the Neoga Free Methodist Church in Neoga, Illinois.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Michael massengill of Toledo, Illinois, Reverend Steve Massengill (Gloria) of Neoga, Illinois, Tim K. Massengill (Tammie) of Neoga, Illinois and Wilson Hatten of Neoga, Illinois; twin sister, Naomi Drake of Camby, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Lloyd Massengill and Paul Hatten; one grandson, Andrew Vincent and one brother, Gilbert Farmer.

Memorials are suggested to the Neoga Free Methodist Church in Neoga, Illinois.

A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday April 17, 2021 in the Long Point Cemetery south east of Neoga, Illinois with Rev. Doug Benham of Kokomo, Indiana officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until service time at the cemetery.
