Kenneth H. Will, 81, of Teutopolis, IL, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 26, 2021, at home. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, American Cancer Society, Teutopolis Education Foundation, or donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here.

Kenneth was born on September 24, 1939, in Cumberland County, the son of Richard and Catherine (Hoene) Will. He married Nancy K. Buenker on October 9, 1965, and she preceded him in death in 1984.

Ken graduated from St. Anthony High School in Effingham and Tri-State University in Angola, IN, with a BS of Civil Engineering. He retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation as a Registered Professional Engineer in 1998 after over 39 years of employment. Ken was involved in many organizations over the years, including past President of the Illinois Association of Highway Engineers, Chairman of the Effingham Highway Credit Union, member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Teutopolis where he helped in the religious education program, the Effingham Knights of Columbus, and Effingham Elks. Over the years, he had many hobbies including dancing, bowling, and golf.  He is best known for his love of photography and videotaping, having taken pictures or videoing numerous weddings and other events over the years.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Kenneth is survived by his son, Steve (Shanta) Will of Effingham, daughter, Stacia (Matt) Wortman of Teutopolis, and daughter, Susan (Jeremy) Medina of Fishers, IN; nine grandchildren, Dylan (Ashley) Koester, Katie Wortman, Elizabeth Will, Will Wortman, Allison Will, Abigail Wortman, Kade Medina, Emerson Medina, Easton Medina, and two great-grandchildren, Sutton Koester and McKenna Koester; special friend, Rosie Kremer; sister, Marilyn Pulsford; brother-in-law, Don Pulsford and sisters-in-law, Janet Buenker and Cindy Will.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; father-in-law and mother-in-law Louis and Mary Buenker; brother, Cletus Will and brother-in-law, Louis Buenker. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to his caregivers Mandy, Cindy, and Sarah, and Lacey with HSHS Home Health, and all others who have assisted in his care.
