Sandra Sue (Embree) Schettler, 78, of Effingham Illinois, formerly of Princeton, passed away Monday, March 22, 2021.

She was born September 24, 1942 to the late Bernice (Hurst) and Harry Robb Embree, Jr. of Princeton, Indiana. Sandy (Sue), worked at a bank early in life and other various jobs throughout the years, but her most proud profession was the title of wife, mom, grandma, and her latest promotion to great-grandma. She married Ronald Ray Schettler on November 25, 1964 and they were blessed with 56 years together. Sandy (Sue) enjoyed Lifetime movies and loved her iPhone. She played Dice with Buddies and Words with Friends with her family and watched daily snap chats of her great grandson, Brooks. Her iPhone never left her side. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the senior center and at Culver's with her friends in Effingham. She supported her husband Ron’s Rotarian involvement and was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow.

Sandy’s (Sue’s) pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Kaitlin Sue Siemianowski (Foran) works as a NICU resource nurse at four Indianapolis hospitals and Addison Pauline Foran is completing her Master of Architecture at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago.  Great-grandson, Brooks, is 1 year old and ready to take on the world. Her absolute favorite past-time was spending time with them, talking about them and and taking screen shot pictures of them on her iPhone.

Some unique things about Sandy (Sue) are...she was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi. She also rarely drank alcohol as she did not like the taste. But Christmas of 2020 she found her drink of choice, cherry Jell-O shots which she did enjoy. Also, Sandy had never received a speeding ticket, because she rarely drove the speed limit.

Sandy (Sue) is survived by her husband, Ronald Schettler of Effingham, Illinois; daughter, Sherri Foran (David) of Downers Grove, Illinois; granddaughter, Kaitlin Sue Siemianowski (Jeff) and her great-grandson, Brooks of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Addison Pauline Foran (James Sheehan) of Chicago, Illinois; sibling, Robert Embree of Princeton, Indiana; nieces, Diane Walter (Mark) of Princeton, Indiana, Ann Smith (Dickie) of Owensville, Indiana, Amy Fieldbender (Neil) of Princeton, Indiana and Carol Embree of Bluffs, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nephews, Mark, Steve and Matt Embree and niece, Debra (Embree) Lasley.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. The service will be streamed on the Colvin Funeral Homes Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/ColvinFuneralHomes/. Burial will follow at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 28th from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
