Pamela J. (Hammer) Kaufman, 59, of Shumway, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery on Moccasin. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham.

Pamela was born on September 30, 1961, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Norman and Carolyn (Phillips) Hammer. She married Kenny Kaufman in 1984.

Pamela graduated from Beecher City High School in 1979. She enjoyed reading, taking walks with her dogs Dolly and Susie, feeding her birds, cooking, planting lots of flowers, doing crafts, listening to music, and being around friends. She enjoyed joking around and having a good time. Pamela made their house a home. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Shumway. Pamela had worked at Keller Ramada Inn, for Dr. Phillip Jensen, and for Dr. Steve Willenborg.

Pamela is survived by her husband, Kenny Kaufman; son, Tony Kaufman; daughter, Lisa Kaufman; sister, Debbie (Denny) Bales; brothers, Doug (Kim) Hammer and Ron Hammer; sisters-in-law, Shirley Richardson, Connie (Dan) Wehrle, and Karen (Terry) Heathcoat; brothers-in-law, Larry Kaufman and Ron (Gina) Kaufman; best friend, Kim Brimer who helped out a lot; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Carolyn Hammer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Lucille Kaufman; infant brother, Dennis Allen Hammer; and brother-in-law, Stan Richardson.
