Kay Winter, 73, of Altamont died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital, Springfield.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Pastor Victor Votaw officiating. Burial will follow at Arborcrest Memorial Park, rural Effingham. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia.

Marilyn Kay Winter was born on Sunday, August 3, 1947 in Vandalia, IL to Kenneth and Lila (Carpenter) Teter. She married Virgil O. Winter on October 2, 1965 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont and they enjoyed 48 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2014. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Church, Vandalia and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her sons, Kevin Winter and his wife Kathryn of Peoria and Travis Winter and his wife Vanessa of Altamont; daughters, Traci Duckworth and her husband Wes of St. Elmo and Krystal Wolff of Altamont; brother, Jeff Teter and his wife Sandy of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Sharon Winter of Altamont; sister-in-law, Donna Teter of Pana; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother, John Teter.
