Gloria A. Kimery, 52, of Effingham formerly of Neoga passed away at 12:20 AM Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at HSHS St Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Gloria held a special place in every heart she touched. She was one of God’s special angels, she was born with Down's Syndrome on August 23, 1968 in Mattoon, Illinois. Her smile and her laughter would literally light up a room, her heart was so full of love and she loved big! Our hearts will never be the same, but our loss is Heaven’s gain as she rejoices completely healed on the streets of gold. What a happy reunion she is having with her parents in heaven. Her love and her memory will continue to live on as we cherish every memory of her 52 years on this earth.

She is the daughter of Don R. and Zella L. (Browder) Kimery. Gloria was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Neoga.

She is survived by her half brothers, Kevin Kimery of Pearl, Mississippi;, Wayne Modglin (Debbie) of Neoga, Wesley Modglin (Rick) of Warren, Michigan and Hal Modglin (Norma) of Pineville, Louisiana; half sisters, Mary Ellen Giles of Evansville, Indiana, Caroline Seay of Bellingham, Washington and Barbara Arnold of Olive Branch, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: one half sister Kathy Kimery; two brothers in law, Ronald Giles and Enoch Arnold.

Memorials are suggested to the United Pentecostal Church in Neoga, Illinois.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM in the Swengel - O’Dell Funeral Home in Neoga, Illinois, Friday, February 5, 2021 with Rev. H. B. Senter of Oakland, Illinois officiating. A Walk-Through Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Neoga Memorial Cemetery in Neoga, Illinois.
