William T. Garrity, 82, of Effingham, IL passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.

William was born on August 2, 1938, in Chicago, IL, the son of Thomas and Elnor (Kleeman) Garrity. He married Delores L. Frechette on August 10, 1957, in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death on January 12, 2009.
William had lived in Chicago up until five years ago. He worked as a supervisor at Vapor Corp in Niles, Bally Corp in Chicago, and Snycro Start in Morton Grove. He enjoyed watching movies, listening to funny music, sitting on the front porch, and having BBQs and get-togethers with family and friends.
William is survived by his daughters, Kathleen L. (Robert) Bone of Effingham and Sandra L. Garrity of Terre Haute, IN, son-in-law, Carl Kretz of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren, Ross (Holly) Doran, Candice (Ron) Wilke, Robin (Dan) Sheck, Lorriane Gezzi, Stephanie (Zachary) Irish, Kayla (DJ) Swindle, Kevin Kretz, and Josh (Liz) Kretz; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (John) Johnson; and brother, Thomas Garrity.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delores; daughter, Eileen C. Kretz; and sister, Gloria J. Garrity.
