George Stephen Michael Anderson (66) of Greenup

George Stephen Michael Anderson, 66,  left this Earth on Monday, December 14, 2020, at Carle Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

He was born on April 15, 1954, to George Anderson and Wilda Paris Anderson. George spent all of his adult life living within a 60-mile radius of his hometown of Greenup, Illinois. George was a unique individual “who did things his own way”. His passions in life were riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, listening to vinyl records, and interacting with his numerous friends. He “would not have changed a thing.”

George is survived by his six sisters: Linda McCarter of Homer, Georgia; Nancy Morgan of Aurora, Illinois; Patricia and Richard Abell of Greenup/Mattoon, Illinois; Pam and George Diel of Greenup, Illinois; Jan Brooks and Phil Rogers of Beecher City, Illinois; and Melanie Anderson of Jacksonville, Florida. George was also survived by his former wife, Rose Anderson of Flora, Illinois who always stood by his side. Several nieces and nephews will also continue to preserve his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jeffrey Anderson.
