Frank Hoelscher, 81 of Effingham, ended his struggle with Parkinson's on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at home surrounded by his family.

A private family mass will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Effingham with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery. Memorial donations are requested, in lieu of flowers, to the MyMemoryWorx Fund for Parkinson's or the St. Anthony Booster Club.  Contributions can be made by mail at MyMemoryWorx Fund, c/o Hoelscher Memorial, 710 West Jefferson, Effingham, IL 62401.

Frank was born May 26, 1939 in Effingham, the son of Frank & Gertrude (Koester) Hoelscher.  He attended St. Anthony School and was proud to be on the 1957 basketball team that went to state.  On April 11, 1959, he married Sue Ann Fuelle and they started their family, their business, and a wonderful life.

Frank is fondly remembered by many generations who came to Hoelscher's Bike Shop over 45 years and those who took dance lessons over 12 years at the K of C Hall.  He was active as a 4th degree Knight and donated his time and talents to St. Anthony Church and the Effingham Tourism Board.

The greatest loves of Frank's life were his wife, Sue, his children and their families, woodworking, dancing and fishing with Dan Will & his son, Bill.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sue, daughters Jayne (Dave) Goldstein, Nancy (Dan Will) Kessler, Deb (Dan Dasenbrock) Kinkelaar, sons Bill (Lisa), Bob (Sara), and Rick, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Leigh Kinkelaar.

Special thanks to the caregivers who made it possible for Frank to remain at home with his family.
