Barbara Putnam, 80, of rural Beecher City, died at 7:38 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Altamont with Rev. Marcus Manley officiating. Private family burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery, rural Beecher City. Memorials may be made to Effingham Area Alzheimer’s Awareness, 21354 East 1200th Avenue, Dieterich, IL 62424. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Barbara was born in Yale, IL on Friday, November 15, 1940 to Max Wayne and Reva Jane (Ellison) Hutson. She married John Putnam on May 11, 1958. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was the owner of Putnam Trucking, Effingham.

She is survived by her husband of over 64 years, John of St. Elmo; sons, John Bradley (Paula) Putnam of Cropsey, Matthew Wayne (Jeanine) Putnam of Altamont, and Peter Ross (Tasha) Putnam of Beecher City; daughters, Robin Lee-Ann (Jason) Habing of Effingham and Sally Beth (Jeff) Henson of Flora; 10 grandchildren, Amber (Leon) Burry, Holly (Brian) Lewis, David (Kaiti) Steben, Christopher (Mariah) Henson, Travis Henson, Ronnie (Kaylyn) Putnam, Matthew Joseph Putnam, John Elliott Putnam, Jacob (Stephanie) Putnam, and Addy Putnam; 9 great grandchildren, Mia Burry, John Cundiff, Emma Cundiff, Carley Lewis, Chloe Winter, Jasper Steben, Anna Putnam, Evelyn Putnam and Emily Putnam.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Max Lee Hutson and Larry Dean Hutson; sisters, LaVetta Mendenhall, Donna Wilson and Peggy Kouns; twin sons, Daniel Mark and David Michael Putnam.
