Ruby Duckwitz (86) of Altamont

Ruby Duckwitz, 86, of Altamont died at 12:55pm Thursday, November 19, 2020 at her home.

A private family service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont with Rev. Dr. James Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or The Whoo Hoo Sisterhood. 

Ruby was born on Tuesday, November 6, 1934 in rural Altamont to David W. and Lydia (Stuemke) Voelker. She married Orville R. Duckwitz on August 26, 1958 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church and he preceded her in death on December 12, 1992. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She had been employed at Altamont Community High School and Altamont Wholesale Company.

She is survived by; her sons; Thomas (Robin) Duckwitz, St. Elmo, Ronald (Scarlett) Duckwitz, Mason; daughter, Karen (Joe) Haas, Mascoutah; in-laws, Pat (Sandy) Vittetow, Altamont, Evadine (Gene) Goers, St. Elmo, Alvin (Irene) Spilker, Altamont, Linder (Marilyn) Wendling, Altamont; ten grandchildren, Kyle (Chelsea) Duckwitz, Kristi Duckwitz, Hannah (Robbie) Shearer; Sean Haas, Jennifer (Chris) McIntosh, Ryan (Fiancé Brittany) Haas; Ashlyn (Jake) Bartel, Landon Duckwitz, Keidron Duckwitz, Denver Duckwitz; fourteen great grandchildren, Kaydence, Kinsley, Kendra, Carson, Hadley; Cameron (Fiancé Katie), Cloé, Peyton, Parker; Kennedy, Kallyn, Layton, Shalee, Brynlee. 

She was preceded in death by; her parents, brothers, Elmer Voelker, Hugo Voelker and Edgar Voelker; and sister, Vera Tappendorf.
