Betty J. Connour, 77, of Effingham, IL, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020 at her home.

Betty was born on December 1, 1942, in Charleston, IL, the daughter of Delmar and Nora Connour. Betty was a tooling and cutter grinder for many years, even building parts for the B-1B Bombers and the space shuttle. Betty retired from management at Super 8 Motel in Effingham. She was a strong, independent woman who was willing to help anyone in need. Betty enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and walking her dog “Maggie.”
Betty is survived by her children, Ritta (Harold) Morrison of Florida, Nancy Osborne of Sullivan, Rick Turrentine of Chicago, and Charles (Mechelle) Coleman of Toledo; grandchildren, Andy, Leather, and Nacy; 3 great-grandchildren; and sister, Brenda Norris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lorraine Bryant; and brothers, Richard Connour and Robert Connour.
