Barbara Jean Hume (93) of Newton passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the BrockvilleCemetery with Pastor Jan Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in the Brockville Cemetery.Memorial gifts may be made to the Willow Hill United Methodist Church.
Barbara was born on October 13, 1927 in Jasper County, Illinois the daughter of Otto M. andGrace E. (Jenkins) Hume. Barbara began her career as a telephone operator in Willow Hill andNewton. She later moved to Bloomington, Illinois, where she continued working for GeneralTelephone until her retirement.
Barbara attended the Willow Hill United Methodist Church. She was an avid reader and lovedcaring for her cats.
She is survived by her many cousins.
Her parents, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.
