John F. Grunloh, 72 of Teutopolis, passed away Friday, October 2, 2020 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Green Creek, with military graveside rites. Memorial donations may be given to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis.

John was born October 26, 1947 in Effingham, the son of Andrew and Dolores (Keller) Grunloh. He married Betty L. Kerner on January 3, 1970. John served with the United States Army and was a member of the Teutopolis American Legion Post #924. He worked for many years at Weber Bros. in Teutopolis and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Teutopolis Knights of Columbus Council #2874.

John is survived by his wife, Betty of Teutopolis; son, John (Janet) Grunloh of Teutopolis; daughters, Kristy (Mark) Niemerg and Laura (Donnie) Dill, both of Dieterich; grandchildren, Thomas (Tara) Niemerg, Katie (Tyler Goble), Louis (Kate Williams), Theresa Niemerg, John A. Grunloh, Josie Grunloh, Noah, Paige and Nathan Dill; great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Meredith and Samuel Niemerg; siblings, Jim (Diane) Grunloh, Mary (Paul) Koester, Linda (John) Barry, Rose (Tom) Niebrugge, Kathleen (Randy) Meyer, Paul (June) Grunloh and Andy (Helen) Grunloh.

John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Chuck.
