Donald D. Griffith, 67, of Hammond, IL, passed away at 7:55 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at home with his loved ones by his side.

Don was born June 10, 1953, in Shelbyville, the son of James and Elizabeth (Keller) Griffith. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He and Paula Moats were married in 1973. He worked as a welder foreman for Mid-State Tank Co, Inc in Sullivan. Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, going for drives in the country and spending time with his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Griffith of Hammond; daughters: Melissa (Pat) Britton of Arthur, Regina Griffith of Hammond and Mary Griffith of Atwood; son, James (Amy Magnus) Griffith of Pana; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Iva Moats of Hammond; sister, Alice Palmer of Shelbyville; brothers: Robert (Brenda) Griffith of Eldorado, Jim Keller of Eldorado and Perry (Robin Wren) Griffith of Cowden.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth; brother, Billy Dale and sisters, Carol Sue and Joyce Ann.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Pastor Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be made in Don’s name to the donor’s favorite charity.
