Wanda Marie Davidson, 84 of Newton, passed away at 2:50 AM Tuesday, March 12th, 2013 at Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11am at Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton. Burial in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Newton. Visitation will be from 9am til service time. Memorials to Jasper Post #20 American Legion Auxiliary.

Wanda was born June 20, 1928 in Willow Hill, Illinois the daughter of Perry and Gladys (Fear) Short. She married Marvin Rogers and they had 5 children but later divorced. She then married Maynard Davidson and they later divorced. Wanda worked for several years at the Ambraw River Basin Agency as an Outreach worker, she also worked as a guard at the CIPS power generating plant near Newton. Wanda enjoyed being a homemaker and was known by many as the AVON lady. Wanda was a member of the Bogota Baptist Church. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary of Olney, IL and the Jasper Post #20 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Wanda enjoyed her family very much and loved dancing, cooking and family gatherings. She celebrated every holiday but Halloween was her favorite. Wanda enjoyed watching television either Joel Osteen or cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. She loved spending time entertaining her grandkids.
Wanda is survived by; 3 Daughters- Marilyn (Robert) Bergbower of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Carolyn “Cookie” (Tim) Doan of Olney, Illinois and Kala (Bruce) Chapman of Newton, Illinois... 6 Grandchildren- Robin Bruner, Rodney Fancil; Chanc Bergbower; Tonya Busby; Amy Kirby and Jordan Buchanan...16 Great-grandchildren...and Son-in-Law- Ralph Fancil of Oblong, IL. Several great-great grandchildren, 2 step children and other family members also survive. Wanda had extended family and several friends that she loved just as family.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, son Jim Rogers, daughter Sandy Fancil, two step children, brothers Herman Short, Leon Short and Donald Short, sisters Opal Ives, Lucille Crouse, Norma Jean Schmidt and Rozella Short.
