Doris Jean Giesler, 72, of Windsor, IL, passed away at 11:28 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, IL with Revs. Bill and Brock Abbot officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to Walther Theological Seminary, Decatur, IL and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Doris was born on March 2, 1948 in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Harry “Bill” and Mildred Grove Slifer. She graduated from Windsor High School in the Class of 1966 and then attended Sparks Business College in Shelbyville, IL. Doris was the Office Manager for the Investment Center at Shelby County State Bank in Shelbyville, IL, until her retirement in 2010. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur, IL, the Illinois State Rifle Association and the Windsor Gun Club. Doris was an avid reader and raised horses for over 30 years. She married Paul Leroy Giesler on April 4, 1970.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; daughter, Megan Wooters (Chad) of Blue Mound, IL; niece, Noreen Bowman (Jerry) of Clarksville, TN; great nephew, Kelly Thomas (Ellie) and their children, Millie, Charlie and Corbin Thomas all of Davenport, IA; brother, David Slifer (Julie) of Effingham, IL; and sisters, Donna Cox (Harold) of Mattoon, IL and Debbie Clawson of Effingham, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Dottie Edgar.
