Mary M. Frailey (92) of Altamont, formerly of Vandalia

Mary Margaret Frailey 92 years old of Altamont, formerly of Vandalia, Illinois died at 7:39 pm Friday evening, August 7, 2020 at the Lutheran Care Center, Altamont where she had made her home the past years at the Luther Terrace, and later the Lutheran Care Center as her health failed.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 am until 10:00 am Wednesday morning August 12, 2020 and Funeral Services will be held Wednesday Morning August 12, 2020 at 10:00 am, both at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Altamont, Illinois. Burial services will be held in the Farmers Cemetery, Kaskaskia Township, Fayette County south of Vandalia. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here.

Mary Margaret Miller-Frailey was born on June 25, 1928 in Vandalia, Illinois one of four siblings into the family of Richard and Rose Klukis-Miller. On July 21, 1945 she married Carl William Frailey in Brownstown, Illinois by the Rev. Matthews. Carl preceded her in death on April 2, 2010. Mary was raised south of Vandalia and attended a one room school in Shobenier for 8 years, and then continued her education at the Vandalia High School. Mary was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. Besides raising a family with Carl, she worked at the Crane Packing Company in Vandalia for 36 years. She most enjoyed her gardening and fishing. Mary was baptized on November 7, 1948 in the Pentecostal Church and later Confirmed her faith on May 5, 2013 by Rev. Dr. James F. Wright at the Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a faithful member.

Mary is survived by her 1-Son: Richard (wife, Debby) Frailey, of Altamont and their daughters Sara (husband, Justin) Stanek and their 2-children of Normal, Illinois, and Emily (husband, John) Hummel and their 3-children of Chatham, Illinois. 1-Daughter-in-law:Cathy Frailey and her 2-sons:William (wife, Heather) Frailey and their 2 children all from Indian Trail, North Carolina, and Edward (wife, Jennifer) Frailey and their 3-children of Monroe, North Carolina. 2-Daughters:Jodie (husband, John) Bernhardt of Chicago and their daughter of Birmingham, Alabama and Amanda O’Neil and her son of Chesterfield, Virginia. 2-Sisters:Dorothy Perks of Pottstown, Pennsylvania and Betty Freeman of San Jose, California.

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Richard and Rose, Husband: Carl, Son David, Sister: Alice June Miller, 2-Brothers-in-law: Bob Perks, and Kenny Freeman.
