James Dale Bowen Jr., 69 of Louisville, passed away at 1:20 am on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at his home.

Jim was born on June 6, 1951 in Clay County, the son of the late James Dale and Mary Ann (Nosek) Bowen Sr. He married JoAnn Cruse on May 10, 1989 in Louisville and she survives. He was a mechanic for many years and worked with Midwest Transit in Effingham. He enjoyed motorcycles, mushroom hunting and liked to talk with his CB buddies. He loved his family and cherished the time he was able to spend with them.

In addition to his wife of 31 years, JoAnn, Jim is survived by a son; Cody Bowen of Shobonier, a daughter; Amy (Kenneth) Wilson of Louisville, a step-daughter; Dawn Leonberger of Shobonier, grandchildren; Kenneth J. Wilson of Louisville, Caiden Bowen of Olney, Mia Walter of Greenville, two step-grandchildren; Arizona & Waylon Leonberger both of Shobonier, two brothers; Alan (Linda) Bowen of Louisville, Virgil (Paula) Bowen of Louisville, two sisters; Patricia (Mike) Polcyn of Louisville and Debbie (Brad) Halterman of Louisville, and by several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a brother; John Bowen, a step-son-in-law; Brandon Leonberger and by a nephew; Michael Polcyn Jr.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville is in charge of the care and arrangements.
