Lucille Wagley, age 79, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, May 23, 2020, at Willowbrook of Effingham.

A graveside ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Louisville with Ron Payne officiating.  Those wishing to attend are asked to observe social distancing recommendations.  Memorial donations are suggested towards an activity fund for Willowbrook Memory Support, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  To share a memory or condolence click here.

She was born April 27, 1941, in Flora, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. William Eldon and Mary Edna (Devore) Compher.  She married Robert E. Wagley on June 8, 1959, in Flora, and for more than 31 years their lives were joined.  Robert passed away December 26, 1990.

Lucille worked for Harrison Insurance & Real Estate in Louisville for over 30 years as an administrative secretary and real estate agent.  She was a longtime member of Red Brush Christian Church.  She enjoyed square dancing, quilting, card playing with friends, and spending time in her yard and tending to the flowers.  Family brought her many smiles and joy throughout the years, and she loved sharing time with them.

She is survived by her son: Mark (Susan) Wagley of Flora; 2 grandaughters: Meredith (Andrew) Milligan and Marissa (Mason) Spitzner; a sister: Marilyn (Jerry) Tolliver of Effingham; a special friend: Jim Porter of Northwood, Iowa; several nieces, nephews, and special friends;  and 3 sisters-in-law: Lois Kleinmeyer of Arcola, Doris Guinn of Griffith, Indiana, and Beverly (Gene) Daughenbaugh of Georgetown.  She was preceded in death by her parents: Eldon and Mary Compher; her stepmother: Mabel Compher; her husband: Robert Wagley; a sister: Joyce Barbee; an infant twin sister: Doris Louise; and a sister-in-law: Margaret Lauderback.
