John Tolch, 73, of Effingham, IL, went to his Heavenly place on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the Cross at the Crossroads or the Dieterich Christian Church. Online condolences may be shared by clicking here.

John was born on March 25, 1947, in Effingham, IL, the son of Emery H. Tolch and Anna L. Bushur Tolch. He married Linda Rogers on November 1, 2011. John was a Godly man and a member of Dieterich Christian Church who prayed every morning. John retired from World Color Press and enjoyed traveling, mowing the grass, gardening, and being outdoors. To John, spending time with his family and grandchildren was the most important. He was a Father, Brother, Husband, Grandfather and Friend. Those who knew John will forever draw on the memories of him and continue to feel the reverberations of a life known for wit, kindness and humor. To say he will be missed would be an understatement. John was a constant source of encouragement and strength to his loved ones and will always remain a meaningful, loving presence, as he was in life.

John is survived by his wife, Linda Tolch of Effingham; children, Donnie (Amy) Tolch of Dieterich, Tammy (Justin) Whitten of Titusville, FL, Brian (Susie) Tolch of Dieterich, and Keith Tolch of Los Angeles, CA; step-children, Heather Batson of Mason, Hilary (Stewart) Hoetger of Chico, CA, and Chelsey (Carson) Siebert of Honolulu, HI; and 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Samuel Tolch; and sister, Nancy Davis.
