Joann Carolyn Parks (79) of Edgewood

Joann Carolyn Parks, age 79, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 12:43 a.m. Sunday, May 10, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Mason Cemetery in Mason, Illinois. Memorials may go to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, American Cancer Society, or the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here.

Joann was born on July 4, 1940 in Effingham County, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph John and Sarah Etta (Jamison) Bushur. Joann attended Sacred Heart Grade School and St. Anthony High School. She married William “Billy” Parks on March 2, 1958, in Effingham County, IL. After the union of Billy and Joann, they moved to Arlington Heights, Illinois where they owned and operated riding stables. They then moved their business to Madison, Wisconsin before returning home to Effingham, Illinois. Joann loved cooking, growing flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially enjoying all her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Roger Parks (wife Sheri) of Edgewood, Danny Parks (wife Denise) of Mason, Dale Parks (wife Sue) of Mason, daughters, Belinda Hall of Mason, Tammy Parks of Effingham, Lisa Orsborn (husband Dallas) of Effingham; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren with one on the way and 7 great great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Sarah Bushur; husband of 61 years, William “Billy” Parks; sisters, Marie Byrum (husband Crutcher), Deloris Martin (husband Leonard), Henrietta Trotter (husband Keith), and Frances Copper (husband Ralph); in-laws, Wayne and Lucille Parks, son-in-law, Doug Hall.
