Timothy Lee Bergbower, age 65, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 3:25 AM Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at his home.

Private services will be held, with burial in the Old St. Peter Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. Arrangements are under the care of the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois. Timothy Lee, better known as “Tim”, was born on December 4, 1954, in Newton, Illinois the son of Frank X. and Ethel Mae (Price) Bergbower. He married Dorothy Rodgers on July 6, 1994, and she survives. Tim was a graduate of Newton Community High School with the class of 1973. Tim was a lifelong farmer. In 1982, he became paralyzed following a farming accident, but this didn’t slow him down. He continued to work every day taking care of his cattle, driving tractors and doing his daily chores. Tim was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois. Tim was a friend to all and enjoyed sharing a good laugh.

Tim is survived by: Wife of 25 years - Dorothy Bergbower of Newton, Illinois; Children - Ronnie (Kasey) Goad of Newton, Illinois; Jason Goad of Robinson, Illinois; Scott (Krista) Goad of Cape Coral, Florida; Tamra (Christopher) Norris of Newton, Illinois; Thomas (Chelsea) Goad of Newton, Illinois and Todd Goad (Jennifer Smith) of Oblong, Illinois; Brother - Fred (Barb) Bergbower of Newton, Illinois; Sisters - Connie (Larry) Brooks of Newton, Illinois and Linda (Wayne) Kessler of Noble, Illinois; 7 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and son Paul Bergbower on January 17, 2007.
