Edwin R. Warner, 92, of Sigel, Illinois passed away at home Wednesday, April 1, 2020.

A private family graveside service and internment will be held at Stewardson Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made in Edwin’s name to the Stewardson United Methodist Church, Stewardson Lions Club or donor’s choice.  Memorials may be mailed to 3224 E 300 North Rd. Sigel, IL 62462.  Brummerstedt Funeral Home in Stewardson is assisting the family.

Edwin was born January 3, 1928, in rural Sigel, the son of Wiley and Mary (Boldt) Warner.  He married Mildred Syfert April 8, 1951. Edwin served in the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. He was a life-long farmer. Edwin was active in the community, serving on the Stewardson-Strasburg School Board, the Effingham Equity Board of Directors and a 60+ year member of the Stewardson Lions Club.  Additionally, Edwin served as a Township ASC Community Committeeman. He was a long-time member of the Stewardson United Methodist Church.  Edwin served in leadership positions for all of these organizations.

Edwin is survived by his wife, Mildred of Sigel; sons:  Marvin (Teresa) Warner of Pocahontas and Gene Warner of Sigel; daughters:  Bev (Mark) Wascher of Stewardson and Linda Warner (Rich Escutia) of Sigel; grandchildren: Nate (Shannon) Wascher, Lisa (Kenny) Castille, Brent (Courtney) Warner, Christopher (Lisa) Warner, Michael (Megan) Warner, Chad (Dani) Warner, Gabe (Megan) Wascher and  Brendan Wascher; 12 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Carol Warner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Dean Warner, Dallas Warner and Betty Roach and granddaughter, Laura Wascher.
