Charles “Chuck” Grunloh, 69 of Teutopolis, was reunited in death with his beloved wife, Geri, on Friday, March 6, 2020.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Catholic Charities or Project Linus. Chuck was born May 16, 1950 in Effingham, the son of Andrew and Delores (Keller) Grunloh. He was united in marriage to Geralyn “Geri” Buenker on September 11, 1971 in Teutopolis and she preceded him in death on May 9, 2011. Chuck graduated from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana and was a founding partner and licensed professional engineer with Milano & Grunloh Engineers of Effingham until his retirement in 2014.

Chuck is loved and survived by his daughter, Michele (Chris) Apke of Teutopolis; sons, Mike (Traci) of Jackson, MO, Doug (Erin) of Sigel and Jim (Jill) of Effingham. He was the proud grandpa of Clayton (Melissa) Apke of Port Byron, IL, Allison & Mitch Apke of Teutopolis, Gage Puls, Addison Puls, Charlie & Maggie Grunloh of Jackson, MO, Ben, Alex & Sophia Grunloh of Teutopolis and Elisabeth, Jack & Grace Grunloh of Effingham; siblings, James (Diane) of Oshkosh, WI, Linda (John) Barry of Chapel Hill, SC, Mary (Paul) Koester and Kathy (Randy) Meyer of Effingham, John (Betty), Rose (Tom) Niebrugge, Paul (June) and Andrew (Helen) Grunloh all of Teutopolis; sisters-in-law, Mary (Harold) Hartke of Teutopolis, Ruth (Bill) Hunt of Oakland and Sandra Buenker of Effingham; brother-in-law, Donald Buenker of Teutopolis.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother-in-law, James “Pete” Buenker and sister-in-law, Mardel Buenker.
