Robert L. ‘Rob’ Miller, 76, of Brownstown died at 5:39 p.m. Saturday, February 29, 2020 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, rural Brownstown with Joe Lawson officiating and military rites by the American Legion and VFW of Brownstown. Memorials may be made to the Fayette County Health Department and Hospice, or a Veteran’s organization of the donor’s choice. Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Rob was born on Friday, May 21, 1943 in Keyesport, Illinois to Chester and Opal (Hubbard) Miller. He served in the Marine Corp during Vietnam from October 1961 – February 5, 1966. He was a member of the Laborers Local # 1048. He married Carrie E. Sidwell on February 26, 1982. He was member of the Crawford-Hale American Legion Post #95, Vandalia and a life member of the VFW Post #3862, Vandalia.

He is survived by his wife of over 38 years, Carrie Miller of Brownstown; son, Tony (Lisa) Gray of Patoka, Robbie Miller, Jr. of Carlyle; daughter, Debra (Gery) Long of Brownstown; brother, Charles (Lola Jean) Miller of Keyesport; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tim Gray; 3 sisters, Helen Johnson, Audrey Lindsay, and Clara Trickey and one grandchild. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here
