Doris J. Prather, age 89, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 12:10 a.m. Monday, February 10, 2020 at Lutheran Care Center in Altamont, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 12 at the Full Gospel Church of Edgewood in Edgewood, Illinois, with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Brother Everett Snyder and Judy Poe will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Full Gospel Church of Edgewood. Burial will be at Iola Cemetery in Iola, Illinois. Doris was born on August 27, 1930 in Clay City, Illinois, the daughter of Ora Jay and Bessie Mae (Glasco) Barnes. She married Weidner R. Prather on June 21, 1947 in Effingham, Illinois, he preceded her in death on July 30, 1988. She later married Harry Busse March 21, 1992 whom also preceded her in death. She was a lifetime member of the Full Gospel Church of Edgewood. She loved cooking, get togethers, attending church, serving and loving people, and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Larry Prather (wife Judy) of Highland, Illinois, Jay Prather of Effingham, Illinois; daughters, Rondell Kroenlein (husband Mike) of Farina, Illinois, Sally Logan (husband Kevin) of Edgewood, Illinois, Renee Helm (husband Jim) of Effingham, Illinois and Rita Ingram (husband Bobby) of Farina, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, Travis, Kim, Brad, Terry, Brock, Heather, Jason, Kristin, Amber, Michael, Heith; several great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ora Jay and Bessie Mae Barnes; two brothers, Merle and Bud Barnes; two sisters, Edith Harrison and Ethel Jenkins; and one grandson, Phillip Prather.
