Charles Robert “Bob” Harpe, 76, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 31 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Milltown Cemetery in Milltown, Indiana at a later date.

Bob was born on March 11, 1943, in Milltown, Indiana, the son of Paul Russell and Mary Lois (Jenkins) Harpe Sr. He married Judy Eckert and from this union were born 3 children: Robert, Angela, and Shawn.

Bob enjoyed going to Lake Jackson Park in Florala, Alabama. He enjoyed spending time camping and boating with his children. Bob was a family man and loved his children. He loved walking his dog, Sid, and letting her chase squirrels. He looked forward to sitting outside in the sun and visiting with friends. Bob also liked to fly remote control airplanes and was a member of the local flying club. He retired from World Color Press in Salem, Illinois.

Bob is survived by his children, Robert “Rob” (Mary Bill Morrison) Harpe of Bristol, Wisconsin, Angela (Scott) Fortune of Laurel Hill, Florida, and Shawn (Carlene) Harpe of Stillwater, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Paul (Pam) Harpe Jr., Sharon (Darrell) Byerly, Jerry (Cathy) Harpe, and Kevin (fiancée, Summer Russell) Harpe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
