Constance C. “Connie” Wendt, 100, passed away Thursday evening, December 12, 2019 at Heartland Christian Village in Neoga.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 16 at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Green Creek, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham with a C.C.W. rosary to follow. Connie was born October 19, 1919 in Teutopolis, the daughter of Aloysius and Johanna (Renschen) Wendt. She lived and worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1942 until her retirement from Singer Corp. in 2008. Connie was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Effingham and Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women.

Connie is survived by her sister, Verena Allen; brother, Al Wendt; sisters-in-law, Pat Wendt and Millie Wendt; 30 nieces and nephews, 99 great-nieces and nephews, 153 great-great nieces and nephews and 1 great-great-great nephew. 

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Virgil, Bernie and infant brother, John; sisters, Mary Swingler and Audrey Walk; nephews, Virgil Wendt Jr. and Larry Wendt; nieces, Lisa Addis and Karen Forti; great-nieces, Laura Henry and Kayley Pruemer and great-great nephew, Levi Jansen.
