Betty L. Burnheimer (90) of Brownstown

Betty L. Burnheimer, 90, of Brownstown, died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday, November 28, 2019, at HSHS St.Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 6 at the First Assembly of God, St. Elmo with Pastor Robert Miller officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will follow at Nichols cemetery, rural Brownstown. Memorials may be made to the family. Gieseking Funeral Home Brownstown is assisting the family with arrangements.

Betty was born on Friday, September 20, 1929 to P.L. and Pearl (Ellison) Guffey in Decatur, IL. She married Marion L. Burnheimer on June 10, 1959, and he preceded her in death on September 28, 2001. She was amember of the First Assembly of God, St. Elmo. Betty worked in the housekeeping department at Cherrywood Healthcare Center.

She is survived by; her sons, Kenneth F. Thompson, Steger, IL, and James L. Thompson, Sr., Vandalia, IL; sister, Kay Spain, St. Elmo; half-sister, Thelma J. Luster, Alton; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by; her daughter-in-law, Sherrie Thompson, brother, Franklin D. Guffey, Alton; half-brother, Dale M. Dively, Vandalia; sister. Wanda Philbrook, Sullivan, MO; half-sister, Louise Peters, GreenValley, CA; and one grandchild.
