Doris Roselie Barker (85) of Shelbyville

Doris Roselie Barker, 85, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 12:19 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2019 in Liberty Village of Peoria, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2019 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery,Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville, IL.

Doris was born on October 5, 1934 in Fancher, IL, the daughter of Clarence Raymond and Mabel Z. (Forcum) Smith. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1952 and attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL.

Doris was a homemaker and later was a Teacher’s Aide at Main Street School in Shelbyville, IL. She was a member of the First Christian Church, American Business Women’s Association and the Red Hat Society all in Shelbyville, IL.

Doris married O. Gayle Barker on June 3, 1953. He died September 7, 2019.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Teresa L. Maxwell (Scott) of Dallas, TX; son, Jeff G. Barker of Dunlap, IL: grandchildren, Allison Barker of Dallas, TX, Madison Barker of Dunlap, IL and Blake Barker of Dunlap, IL: and brother-in-law, Richard Barker (Barb) of Champaign, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gayle; three brothers, Walter, Richard and Mitchell Smith; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Wortman.
