Julia Sue "Judy" O'Dell, 81, of Neoga, Illinois passed away at 8:56am Friday, October 25, 2019 in the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center of Mattoon, Illinois.

She was born October 2, 1938 in Mattoon, Illinois, the daughter of Dean and Carol (Voris) Swengel. Judy married Joe O'Dell, September 1, 1956 in Mattoon, Illinois. He passed away March 25, 2019. She graduated from the Lake Land College Practical Nursing Program and was an LPN for Dr. Robert Swengel in Neoga, Illinois for many years. After Dr. Swengel's passing, she stayed at the Neoga Clinic and retired from the Sarah Bush Clinic of Neoga. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Neoga, Illinois, the Neoga Evergreen Chapter and the Toledo Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Odd-Fellow Rebekah Lodge and a charter member and past president of the Neoga Business and Professional Women's Club in Neoga.

She leaves two Sons, William O'Dell (Lisa) of Neoga and Tim O'Dell (Carol) of Neoga; eight Grandchildren, John O'Dell (Shawna) of Toledo, Wayne O'Dell (Darlene) of Toledo, Susan Hartman (Josh) of Windsor, Pat O'Dell (Katie) of Windsor, Andrea Schweska (Cully) of Mahomet, Eric O'Dell (Heather) of Neoga, Ross O'Dell (Chrissy) of Bethany, and Katy Oakley (Ben) of Charleston; eighteen great-grandchildren, Brother in law, David O'Dell (Judy) of Neoga; and several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Joe O'Dell; Brother, Robert Swengel and one Granddaughter, Candis O'Dell.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her sister-in-law Judy E. O'Dell who has taken such great care of her for the past 5 years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, November 1 in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, with Rev. Richard Coen officiating.
