Terry Smith (67) of St. Elmo

Terry Joseph Smith, 67 of St. Elmo, died at 4:21 a.m. Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16 at Gieseking Funeral Home, Altamont with Pee Wee Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, St. Elmo. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Cancer Center, Effingham or the donor’s choice.

Terry was born on Monday, October 13, 1952 in St. Elmo, IL to Robert Joseph and Helen Mae (Tucker) Smith. He married Mary Ann Milleville on August 29, 1971. He owned and operator of Terry Smith Welding, St. Elmo for 40 years. He was a member of the Pontiac International Club and GTO Club.

He is survived by his wife of over 48 years, Mary Ann Smith of St. Elmo; son, Wyatt (Heather) Smith of St. Elmo, daughter, Tara Quandt (fiancé, Ron Slifer) of Altamont; mother, Helen Smith of St. Elmo; brother, Brent (Brenda) Smith of St. Elmo, sister, Kendra Smith of St. Elmo; 7 grandchildren, Vayda Smith, Gavyn Smith, Kyle Behl, Lyndi Smith, Emily Koberlein, Anna Koberlein, and Brynttlee Stoldt.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph Smith.
