Carol Kay Case, age 79, passed away at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Evergreen Nursing Home in Effingham, Illinois.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 5 at the Baptist Church in Farina, Illinois with a 2 hour visitation prior to service. Ron Mulvaney will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials may go to the Baptist Church in Farina, Illinois, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed by clicking here

Carol was born on March 16, 1940 in Mason, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Faneta (Nave) Norris. She married Clayton Case on December 7, 1957 at the Edgewood Nazarene Church in Edgewood, Illinois. Carol was a member of the Farina Baptist Church in Farina, Illinois. She was a previous dancer in the Heartland Honey’s Dance Club. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, dancing and playing the piano. She loved teaching children in Bible School, Sunday School and pre-school.

Carol is survived by her husband Clayton Case of Effingham, Illinois; three sons, Jim Case (wife Kim) of Mason, Illinois, Douglas Case (wife Maryann) of Effingham, Illinois and Steve Case (wife Barb) of Edgewood, Illinois; one sister, Jeri Schwartz (husband Don) of Altamont, Illinois;12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Fanita Norris; one daughter, Cindy Case; one brother, Jack Norris, Jr.; two sisters, Pat Nelson and Doris Austin.
