Brad Baker, 64, of Effingham, IL, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 23 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Ronald McDonald House Charities. Online condolences maybe shared by clicking here

Bradley was born on September 10, 1955, in Effingham, IL, the son of Doyle and Joan (Painter) Baker.

Brad worked in the printing industry since the age of 18 until his retirement. In his younger years he enjoyed bowling and playing golf. He also found joy in playing cards and bingo. Having coffee with friends and family was almost a daily event. He liked attending auctions and was never short of telling a funny story. Brad was a loving and caring person with a big heart and was supportive of his family’s activities.

Brad is survived by his daughters, Jennifer “Jeni” (Brad) Russell of Effingham, and Julie (Travis) Kruger of Effingham; grandchildren, Aaron Baker, Kelsie Mason, Kaitlyn Russell, Alexander Kruger, and Kara Kruger; great-grandchild, Avery Mason; mother of his children, Irene (Greg) Lilley; siblings, Jim (Rose) Baker and Jeff (Pam) Baker; and several nieces and nephews.                    

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Joshua Baker.
