Alan I. Katzeff, 70, of Toledo, IL passed away at 8:58 AM Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Mattoon Rehab and Health Care Center.
Memorial services will be at a later date. The Barkley Funeral Chapel is assisting the family.
Alan was born in Cleveland, OH on June 3, 1949 the son of Leonard & Doris ((Zetzer) Katzeff. He married Mary Virginia Patton on August 30, 1970 and she preceded him death in 2006. Surviving is a daughter Star (Eric) Shoot of Toledo; a grandson Jake Shoot; sister Susan Havranek of Glendale, AZ; special friend Carla Turner of Toledo.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents.
Alan earned a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in History. He taught at Lakeland College for 10 plus years and was a substitute teacher at Cumberland and Mattoon Schools for several years. In his spare time, he was an avid coin collector and enthusiast.
