Debra J. Elson, 54, of Windsor, Illinois, passed Friday, August 16, 2019 after a long battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

The visitation will be held at Ash Grove Christian Church, Windsor Sunday, August 18, from 2-4pm with funeral services starting at 4pm. The Rev. Patrick Powers will officiate. Burial will follow in Cochran’s Grove Cemetery, Windsor. Donations in Debby’s memory may be made directly to the Ash Grove Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.

She was born November 10, 1964 the daughter of James and Nelda Hostetter. She graduated from Windsor High School in 1982. Debby will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 35 years, David Elson and their children: Rachel (Mark) Harris, Hannah (Ace) Camfield, and Ben (Sierra) Elson. Debby will also be remembered fondly by her grandchildren, Anthony and Ryan Harris as well as her parents-inlaw, Joe and Bernie Elson. Debby spent her life as both a hard-working farmer and beautiful homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, reading, going on motorcycle rides with her husband, spoiling her grandchildren, and spending time with her friends, often causing some sort of lighthearted trouble. She was an extremely caring person who paid attention to the small details such as never forgetting to send a birthday card to friends and family.

Debby is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, father and his wife, Carol, and siblings: Vicki (Ralph) Shafer, Dennis (Robin) Hostetter, Randy (Rhonda) Hostetter, and sister-in-law, Beth Barker (Mark Mathis) along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nelda (Hawyer) Hostetter, her infant brother, Tommy Hostetter, her uncle, Elden Hostetter, and her brother-in-law, Chris Barker.
