Janice Marie Horath, 62, of Salem, IL died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Nature Trails Nursing Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Born January 1, 1957 in Effingham, IL, she was the daughter of William A. and Mildred (Rose) Horath.
Janice was a homemaker at her death. She was formerly a LPN at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, along with several nursing centers. She loved to crochet, and collect recipes. She was a member of the Grace Church of the Nazarene, and loved to help feed the hungry through the food pantry.
She is survived by her children, Shannon (Mathew) Garrison of Iuka, IL, and Devin Horath of Salem, along with 1 grandchild, Hayden Horath.
She is also survived by her sisters, Glenda Horath Murray of Odin, IL, Debbie Colclasure of Edgewood, IL, and sister-in-law Bonnie Hypes of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers William A. Horath and Larry J. Horath, Sr.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 1 at the Grace Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Doug Romine officiating. A private family burial will be observed at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Grace Church of the Nazarene Food Pantry, and will be accepted by the Rankin Funeral Home in Salem, entrusted with the family's care.
