Sarah Van Horn, 95, of Sullivan, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019, at Sullivan Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Sullivan, IL.

Private graveside services will be held at Griffith Cemetery, Brownstown. Gieseking Funeral Home, Brownstown is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.

Sarah Elaine was born on Friday, April 4, 2019 in Greenville, Bond County, Illinois to James Gilford and Cecile Elvera (Merry) Terry. She married William W. Van Horn on April 11, 1942 in Vandalia and he preceded her in death on October 23, 2006. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Brownstown. She was a homemaker and had been a cook at the Brownstown Grade School.

She is survived by: her daughters, Joann Crossin and her husband Robert of Springfield and Janet Bratton and her husband David of Sullivan; sister, June Peters of Vicksburg, Mississippi; 6 grandchildren, Shannon Moon and her husband Jeff, Brian Duzan and his wife Amy, Mark Bratton, Donna Crossin, Michael Crossin and his wife Michele and Diane Duzan and her husband Brad and 7 great grandchildren.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, John Terry and sister Bonnie Whyte.
