Linda Ann VanMeter (61) of Effingham

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery in Edgewood. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Linda was born on April 20, 1957, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Albert L. and Catherine A. (Heuerman) Will of Teutopolis, IL. She married Dennis VanMeter on October 9, 1976 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Teutopolis.
Linda worked for 10 years at White House Manufacturing in Teutopolis. She then became a stay-at-home mom. She was an avid shopper who loved shopping at resale shops and stores with her younger sister, Susie. Linda loved reading, watching movies, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Dennis VanMeter of Effingham; daughters, Jennifer (husband, Christopher) East of Effingham and Melissa (husband, Billy) Wheeler of Bluford. She has 7 grandchildren, Macci (husband, Caleb) Johnson, Jordan (wife, Tori) East, Casey (husband, Trace) Zellner, Emma Ross, Kyra Mars, Ethan Mars, and Colton Wheeler; and 3 great-grandchildren, JayC, Ares, and August. Also surviving are sisters and brothers, Loretta Will of Teutopolis, John Will of Shumway, Pat (husband, Jesse) Heischmidt of Altamont, Albert F. Will Jr. of Teutopolis, and Susan (husband, Jim) Smothers of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Karen VanMeter.
