Cheryl Ann Pitman, 57, of Toledo, IL passed away at 3:09 AM Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at her residence from Kidney cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 6 at the Barkley Funeral Chapel in Toledo. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 Friday evening at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Toledo Cemetery.

Cheryl was born March 12, 1962 in Terre Haute, IN the daughter of Bernard Kennedy and Georgia (Lambert) Cooper. Married to Larry Pitman in 1987, they spent 31 years of making memories and smiles.

They had four children, Larry “Chip” Pitman, wife Rachel; Jason Pitman, wife Joanna; Kandi Achenbach, husband Joshua; and Amy Followell, husband Brandon. She has nine grandchildren, Chais, Emma, Hailey, Zowy, Lucy, Demi, Hunter, Emilia, and Molly. Parent Georgia Cooper; siblings Terry Kennedy, wife Brenda; Jeannie Cooper; Susan Kennedy; Jeff Kennedy, wife Christine; Debbie York, husband David; and Bobbie Kennedy.

She was preceded in death by father Bernard Kennedy and wife Mary; brother Lonnie Kennedy; and grandson Dominic Pitman.

Cheryl followed her dreams and became a hairdresser in 1996. Continuing with her desire to help people and brighten people’s day she became a waitress at The Fillin’ Station in 2003. Her friends and customers remember her as a kind, caring, and loving close friend. The love and support shown for her children and grandchildren was unconditional. Married to her best friend and soulmate for 31 years, Cheryl and Larry’s love was undeniable, and one only written about in novels or seen in movies.

Memorials may be made to The Kidney Cancer Association or Cumberland County Veterans Monument.
