Edwin G. Austin, 70, of Neoga, Illinois, passed away at 9:22 A.M. Wednesday, March 27, 2019, in HSHS St. John's Hospital of Springfield, Illinois.

He was born January 18, 1949, in Shelby County, Illinois the son of Clarence William and Ella Faye (Latch) Austin. Edwin was in the United States Navy from 1967 until 1971. He married Anna Marie Mitchell (Haskett) August 1, 1989 in Paradise Twp., Coles County, Illinois. Edwin was retired from Blaw-Knox Construction Equipment of Mattoon, Illinois, he also worked at Bennett Grain in Windsor, Illinois for 17 years and also was Owner/Operator of A-H Construction of Neoga, Illinois. Edwin was a member of the Neoga American Legion Post 458, Mattoon V.F.W. Post 4325. He was a former member of the Mattoon American Legion Post 88, The Jaycee's of Mattoon and Volunteer with the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department.

He leaves his wife, Anna Austin of Neoga, Illinois; his children, Tabitha Leasher (Troy) of Mentor, Ohio, Benjamin Austin of Mattoon, Illinois, Scott Haskett (Therese Shelton) of Clarkson, Kentucky and Keith Haskett (Sherrie) of Charlotte, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; brother, Melvin Austin (Jackie) of Lake Paradise, Illinois; and his sister, Lola Cowger (Jim Mattingly) of Ruskin, Florida.

Mr Austin was preceded in death by his Parents; and a brother, Norvan Austin.

Memorials may be made to the Mattoon V.F.W. of Mattoon, Illinois.

A Celebration of Edwin's Life will be held at 5:30 P.M. Monday, April 1 in the Swengel - O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois with Military Services conducted by Mattoon V.F.W. Post 4325 following the funeral service. Visitation will be held From 2:30 until service time at the Funeral Home.
