Alice E. Reichert, 70, of Effingham, passed away at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Lakeland Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Effingham.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church, Effingham, with Pastor John Hollis officiating.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at a later date. Johnson Funeral Home, Effingham is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials may be made to Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary (E.A.R.S.).  Online condolences may be made at www.johnsonandsonsfh.com

Alice was born on March 4, 1942, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of Ernest and Sylvia (McNary) Rippetoe.  Alice was a member of Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church, Effingham. She had worked in the housekeeping department at the Bobber Truck Stop, Effingham. Alice loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her cats.

Alice is survived by her children, Tammy (Ty) Heustis of Farina, Michelle (Brian) Butts of Kinmundy, Gerry (Angela) Long of Watson, 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Marylee Jones of Altamont; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Rippetoe of South Beloit, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John Rippetoe.
