Charles B. Latch, 87, of rural Windsor, Illinois passed away at 7:35 P.M. Saturday, February 16, 2019, in the Mattoon Rehabilation and Health Center of Mattoon, Illinois.

He was born March 1, 1931, in Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Orvel and Cora E. (Maurer) Latch. He married Betty Ella Hatten on July 26, 1946 in Toledo, Illinois. Charles was a retired farmer, a grain hauler and a avid mushroom hunter. He never met a stranger and he would help anyone he could.

Charles leaves his wife Betty Latch after seventy-two years of marriage. He also leaves five children, Sandra Hundley (Earl of Login, Utah, Terry Latch (Peggy) of Stewardson, Illinois, Darlette Brasel (Denton) of Kinmundy, Illinois, Paulette Ballinger (David) of Windsor, Illinois, Charlie (Sherry) Latch of Mattoon, Illinois: one sister, Elizabeth Stremming of Strasburg, Illinois; twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty-six great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

Mr. Latch was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Latch; three brothers, Dallas, Dale and Bill Latch; three sisters, Ella Faye Austin, Mary Edith Baker and Betty Lou Mefford.

A celebration of Charles' life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Noon Thursday, February 21 in the Swengel-O'Dell Funeral Home of Neoga, Illinois with Pastor Mel Workman officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 A.M. Thursday until service time. Burial will be in the Lower Ash Grove Cemetery, Shelby County, Illinois.
