David D. Delaney, 81 of Effingham, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 20 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham with burial in Arborcrest Memorial Park with military graveside rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bauer Funeral Home in Effingham and for one hour prior to funeral services Wednesday morning at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.

David was born May 23, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Edward and Ruby C. (Fletcher) Delaney. He married Ruby Marie Bell on October 31, 1959. David served with the United States Army and worked in the press room at Fedders Corp. for over 40 years. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Effingham.

David is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Michael (Tammy) of Altamont; daughters, Diana (Larry) Morton of Brookfield, WI and Debra Delaney of Effingham; sister, Nannette Roberts of Elgin; sister-in-law, Leona Delaney of St. Elmo; grandsons, David M. Delaney of Ames, IA, Danny M. Delaney of Sheffield, AL, Derek M. Delaney of Altamont, Donovan M. Delaney of Altamont; granddaughters, Dayna M. Delaney of Altamont and Lauren E. Morton of Chicago; step-grandson, Adam Richards of Altamont; great-grandson, Jaxon Delaney of Altamont; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Matthew Delaney; granddaughter, Deena M. Delaney; brother, Edward and sister, Avis Clark.
