Jack R. McGee, 85 of Louisville passed away at 8:22 am on Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Lutheran Care Center in Altamont.

He was born on August 16, 1933 in Clay County, the son of the late Allen and Nell (McGee) McGee. He married Greta Hardin on June 26, 1955 at the Methodist Church in Bible Grove and she survives. Jack served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Mr. McGee was a lifelong farmer in the Clay County area and drove the school bus for North Clay and Bible Grove school districts for over 40 years. Farming was his passion and he enjoyed the outdoors. In his spare time, Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry and woodworking, and he could often be found out visiting local farms and friends on his side by side.

In addition to his wife Greta, Jack is survived by four children; Ed (Eva) McGee of Centralia, Pam (Ron) Woods of Louisville, Susan (Brad) Thompson of Savoy and Jeff (Julie) McGee of Eureka, MO; Eight grandchildren; Chris & Curt McGee, Nicole Woods-Kuhlig, , Riley, Marshall, and Jack Thompson, Courtney (Adam) James and Ashley Preston; Three great-grandchildren, Dakota McGee and Ava & Theo James; One brother, Jerry (Faye) McGee of Louisville and nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Funeral Services honoring the life of Jack will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 26 at the Triplett & Neal Funeral Home in Louisville with Pastor Gene Birch officiating. Interment will follow at the Old Union Church of Christ Cemetery in rural Louisville where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
